James Turrell
One of my fav artists of all time. He works with light and controlling viewers perspective of light. His biggest work, the Roden Crater, has been a work in progress since the 70's and is expected to finally open in 2011. It's Located outside Flagstaff, Arizona. He is turning the natural cinder volcanic crater into a massive observatory, designed specifically for the viewing of the sky. I am already planning a trip.

James Turrell is one of my favorite artists too. I live in Arizona and one of my favorite contemporary art pieces of his is at PhxArt. I have heard bits and pieces about what he is doing up in Flagstaff, so I'm glad you posted more info about it. That will be an amazing experience.
